After attaining my Chartered Accountancy qualification I wanted to put my skills into good use in the charity sector. Having grown up in Walthamstow and as a young(ish) person myself (give or take a few years) The Limes was a perfect match. Ensuring young people have a place to go where they can have fun, engage in great activities, and develop employability skills is vital, and at The Limes I am able to be at the heart of that.
I have managed property for over 20 years and I have been responsible for all sorts of buildings all over the world. In becoming a trustee I hope I can contribute my professional expertise to help the Limes maintain and secure the future of its buildings.
I wanted to get involved with the Limes because after becoming a mother I understood the importance of providing children and young people the opportunity and space to realise their potential.
I have always worked with public and community focused organisationsand stared my career in a similar organisation to the Limes. I hope I can use my experience to support the Limes to be sustainable in order to continue all its fantastic work..
I worked for almost forty years, first as a teacher and then as an in-house
Throughout my working life I have worked with children and families, and have always been involved in supporting children with special needs.
Becoming a trustee at the Limes has been an ideal opportunity for me to pursue my interest of working with children and young people and to contribute to a local voluntary organisation.
